Above is a short Public Service Announcement on the volunteer firefighter shortage in Pennsylvania.
Above is my first Vodcast, (podcast with video). I focus on recruitment and retention strategies using the Disaster Dad’s Podcast, the case study on Rockland County, New York and the Strategic Plan that the Firefighter’s Association of the State of Pennsylvania created. I cover the steps to recruiting and retention: justifying the worth of volunteer departments, finding why volunteers are leaving, management, incentives, and marketing. I also point out ideas and ways to put these steps in place. Sources are in MLA citation format.
